Spring is just around the corner?

The snow is melting and thoughts may soon turn to getting outdoors after being cooped up over the long winter. Some look forward to taking walks, breathing in the fresh spring air, and watching for the tulips and crocuses to pop up.  Others, however, may get the urge to sort through long-neglected piles in the garage, basement, or other areas in the house/shed/barn.  Yes, some folks do get the urge to take on this type of project.  When the urge strikes, you might be in need of a dumpster to dispose of your materials.

Depending on the volume of material you have to get rid of, ordering a dumpster might be a good option. There are some factors to consider when choosing the right size dumpster for your project.  Are there a lot of smaller items, something that might fit in the back of a pickup truck?  Or are there larger, bulky items?  If you have a small amount to get rid of, the 6 cubic yard dumpster might be a good choice.  It is approximately 5’ high x 6” wide x 6’ deep.  You might see that size behind a restaurant for their garbage.  There are two plastic lids that cover the dumpster.

If you have a larger volume of material or bulky items like furniture, a roll off dumpster might work better. Most people can get by with a 20 cubic yard dumpster – 4 ½’ high, 8’ wide, and 20’ long.  The shorter sides on the 20yd dumpster allow you to more easily toss material over the top.  All of the roll off dumpsters are equipped with a back door that swings open for ease of loading heavier materials.  There is a slight step up (approximately 8-10 inches) to get into the dumpster.  If you have a much greater volume of material to get rid of we also offer 30 and 40 cubic yard dumpsters.

There are some restrictions on what types of material cannot be tossed into the dumpster. The big ones are any kind of electronics or appliances.  Also, tires, batteries, and hazardous materials should not be thrown into the dumpster.  Paint can be disposed of provided it is completely dried or sand or kitty litter is added to solidify it.  Yard Waste or brush should not be mixed with the household items.  We can set a separate dumpster for that material if needed.
